Longneck Buddies
In this photo provided by Busch Gardens, Bea, a three-year-old giraffe, and Wilma, an ostrich, share a moment Aug. 1, 2009 at Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, Florida's 65-acre Serengeti Plain. Just as they do on Africa's plains, the animals usually hang out with their own species. But recently, zoo keepers at Busch Gardens noticed the unlikely pair that just can't seem to get enough of one another.(AP Photo/Busch Gardens, Matt Marriott)

Hubble Space Telescope Images
Newly released images taken from the Hubble Space Telescope, obtained on September 9, 2009, are seen in this combination photograph. The freshly repaired and outfitted space telescope has spotted a new butterfly-shaped galaxy and wisps of stardust containing the elements of life being recycled into new galaxies, NASA said on Wednesday. Giant Star Cluster
This NASA handout image taken by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope shows a panoramic view of a colorful assortment of stars residing in the crowded core of a giant star cluster. A fully rejuvenated Hubble telescope kicked off its new life on Wednesday with a flurry of stunningly clear images of cosmic wonder, including a celestial "butterfly" and a "pillar of creation."(AFP/NASA)

Emperor Tamarin Monkey Twin Orphans
In this August 2009 handout photograph provided by The Denver Zoo, one of the emperor tamarin monkey twins is groomed with a toothbrush by a handler. The tamarin twins named Lara and Lucy were orphaned on July 30 when their mother died of cancer, three weeks after giving birth. As a result, zookeepers are feeding the monkeys by hand.(AP Photo/HO, The Denver Zoo, Dave Parsons)

Emmenopterys henryi tree flower
A flower from the Emmenopterys henryi tree, originally from the Chinese forests, is pictured in bloom at an arboretum near Antwerp, in Kalmthout, providing a very rare sight for Europe. The tree, a Chinese member of the coffee plant family, was first planted in Europe in 1907. Before today's flowering it had bloomed only four times in Europe.(AFP/John Thys)

Total Solar Eclipse
The sun is covered by the moon during a total solar eclipse in the Indian city of Varanasi on July 22. The longest solar eclipse of the 21st century plunged millions across Asia into temporary darkness on Wednesday, triggering scenes of religious fervour, fear and excitement in India and China.(AFP/Pedro Ugarte)
NGC-1097 Galaxy
This image provided by NASA this July 23, 2009 is a photo made by the Spitzer Space Telescope of the galaxy, called NGC-1097, is located 50 million light-years away. It is spiral-shaped like our Milky Way, with long, spindly arms of stars. The 'eye' at the center of the galaxy is actually a monstrous black hole surrounded by a ring of stars. In this color-coded infrared view from Spitzer, the area around the invisible black hole is blue and the ring of stars, white. The black hole is huge, about 100 million times the mass of our sun, and is feeding off gas and dust along with the occasional unlucky star. The galaxy's red spiral arms and the swirling spokes seen between the arms show dust heated by newborn stars. Older populations of stars scattered through the galaxy are blue. The fuzzy blue dot to the left, which appears to fit snuggly between the arms, is a companion galaxy. This image was taken during Spitzer's cold mission, before it ran out of liquid coolant.(AP Photo/NASA)
